హనుమకొండ: తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం కొత్త చేయూత పింఛన్ల మంజూరుకు కసరత్తు ప్రారంభించింది. అర్హులైన లబ్ధిదారుల నుంచి కొత్త పింఛన్ల దరఖాస్తుల స్వీకరణకు శ్రీకారం చుట్టింది. అయితే వృద్ధాప్య పింఛన్లకు కొత్తగా దరఖాస్తు చేసుకునే అవకాశం లేకపోవడం వయోవృద్ధుల్లో తీవ్ర నిరాశ, ఆందోళనకు కారణమైంది. ఏళ్లుగా వృద్ధాప్య పింఛన్ కోసం ఎదురుచూస్తున్న అర్హులు తమకు కూడా కొత్త పింఛన్ దరఖాస్తుల ప్రక్రియలో అవకాశం కల్పించాలని కోరుతున్నారు.
హనుమకొండ జిల్లా వ్యాప్తంగా ప్రస్తుతం ప్రభుత్వం నిర్దేశించిన కొన్ని కేటగిరీలకు మాత్రమే కొత్త చేయూత పింఛన్లు కోసం దరఖాస్తులు స్వీకరిస్తున్నారు. వితంతువులు, దివ్యాంగులు, ఒంటరి మహిళలు, గీత కార్మికులు, బీడీ కార్మికులు, పైలేరియా, తలసేమియా, డయాలసిస్ బాధితులకు దరఖాస్తు చేసుకునే అవకాశం కల్పించారు. అయితే వృద్ధాప్య పింఛన్ కేటగిరీని ఈ దశలో చేర్చకపోవడంతో వృద్ధులు తీవ్ర అసంతృప్తి వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు.
ఏళ్లుగా వృద్ధాప్య పింఛన్ కోసం ఎదురుచూపులు
తెలంగాణలో గతంలో వృద్ధాప్య పింఛన్ వయోపరిమితి తగ్గించినప్పటికీ అనేక మంది అర్హులకు పింఛన్ మంజూరు కాలేదు. ముఖ్యంగా ఆన్లైన్లో పింఛన్ దరఖాస్తుల కోసం అవసరమైన ఐడీలు అందుబాటులో లేకపోవడం, పోర్టల్లో సమస్యలు ఉండటంతో చాలామంది వృద్ధులు దరఖాస్తు చేసుకోలేకపోయారు.
ప్రభుత్వం మారిన తర్వాత కొత్తగా చేయూత పింఛన్లు మంజూరు చేస్తారని ఆశించిన వృద్ధులకు ప్రస్తుత మార్గదర్శకాలు నిరాశ కలిగించాయి. తమ వయసు, అర్హత ఉన్నప్పటికీ వృద్ధాప్య పింఛన్ దరఖాస్తు చేసుకునే అవకాశం లేకపోవడంపై వారు ఆవేదన వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు.
ఏడు కేటగిరీలకే కొత్త పింఛన్ దరఖాస్తులు
ప్రస్తుతం ప్రభుత్వం చేపట్టిన కొత్త పింఛన్ల దరఖాస్తుల ప్రక్రియలో ఏడు ప్రధాన కేటగిరీలకు అవకాశం కల్పించినట్లు అధికారులు చెబుతున్నారు. ఇందులో:
- వితంతువులు
- దివ్యాంగులు
- ఒంటరి మహిళలు
- గీత కార్మికులు
- బీడీ కార్మికులు
- పైలేరియా బాధితులు
- తలసేమియా, డయాలసిస్ బాధితులు
ఉన్నారు.
అర్హతను నిర్ధారించేందుకు పలు రకాల ధ్రువీకరణ పత్రాలను సమర్పించాల్సి ఉండటంతో తహసీల్దార్ కార్యాలయాలు, మీసేవా కేంద్రాల వద్ద రద్దీ పెరిగింది. ముఖ్యంగా వితంతువులు భర్త మరణ ధ్రువీకరణ పత్రం, ఆదాయ ధ్రువీకరణ పత్రం తదితర పత్రాల కోసం కార్యాలయాల చుట్టూ తిరుగుతున్నారు.
నెలకు రూ.4,016 వరకు పింఛన్
ప్రస్తుతం ప్రభుత్వం అందిస్తున్న చేయూత పింఛన్లలో దివ్యాంగులకు నెలకు రూ.4,016 చొప్పున, వితంతువులు, బీడీ కార్మికులు, చేనేత, గీత కార్మికులకు నెలకు రూ.2,016 చొప్పున పింఛన్ అందుతోంది.
ఈ నేపథ్యంలో కొత్తగా పింఛన్ కోసం ఎదురుచూస్తున్న లబ్ధిదారుల్లో ఆశలు పెరిగాయి. అయితే వృద్ధాప్య పింఛన్లకు కొత్త దరఖాస్తుల అవకాశం లేకపోవడం మాత్రం వృద్ధులను నిరాశకు గురిచేస్తోంది.
హనుమకొండ జిల్లాలో 1,00,504 మంది పింఛన్ లబ్ధిదారులు
హనుమకొండ జిల్లా వ్యాప్తంగా ప్రస్తుతం 1,00,504 మంది పింఛన్ లబ్ధిదారులు ఉన్నారు. వీరికి ప్రతి నెలా ప్రభుత్వం సుమారు రూ.23.12 కోట్ల పింఛన్ నిధులను విడుదల చేస్తోంది.
ఇదిలా ఉండగా జిల్లాలో పింఛన్ లబ్ధిదారుల జాబితా పరిశీలనలో భాగంగా 3,530 మంది మరణించిన వారిని గుర్తించినట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు. మరో 14 మంది పింఛన్ వద్దని పేర్కొన్నట్లు, వారిని జాబితా నుంచి తొలగించినట్లు సమాచారం.
కొత్త పింఛన్ కోసం 11,236 దరఖాస్తులు
హనుమకొండ జిల్లాలో కొత్త చేయూత పింఛన్ల కోసం 11,236 మంది దరఖాస్తు చేసుకున్నట్లు అధికారులు వెల్లడించారు. వీటిలో వృద్ధాప్య పింఛన్ దరఖాస్తులను పక్కన పెడితే ప్రస్తుతం 7,544 దరఖాస్తులు పరిశీలనకు ఉన్నట్లు తెలుస్తోంది.
ఈ దరఖాస్తులను ఈ నెల 31లోగా ఆన్లైన్లో నమోదు చేసి, అర్హతలను పరిశీలించాల్సి ఉంది. దీంతో సంబంధిత అధికారులు దరఖాస్తుల పరిశీలన, ధ్రువీకరణ ప్రక్రియను వేగవంతం చేస్తున్నారు.
ప్రజాపాలనలో దరఖాస్తు చేసిన వారికి పింఛన్ వస్తుందా?
గతంలో నిర్వహించిన ప్రజాపాలన కార్యక్రమం, మీసేవ ద్వారా పింఛన్ కోసం దరఖాస్తు చేసుకున్న వారి వివరాలు ఇప్పటికే ఆన్లైన్లో నమోదు చేసినట్లు అధికారులు చెబుతున్నారు. అయితే ఆ దరఖాస్తుల ఆధారంగానే కొత్త పింఛన్ మంజూరు చేస్తారా? లేక అర్హులు మళ్లీ కొత్తగా దరఖాస్తు చేసుకోవాలా? అనే అంశంపై స్పష్టత లేకపోవడం ప్రజల్లో అయోమయానికి దారితీస్తోంది.

31లోగా దరఖాస్తులు సమర్పించాలి
అర్హులైన వారు ఈ నెల 31లోగా గ్రామ పంచాయతీ కార్యదర్శులకు లేదా వార్డు అధికారులకు తమ వివరాలు, అవసరమైన పత్రాలను సమర్పించాలని అధికారులు సూచిస్తున్నారు. అనంతరం దరఖాస్తుల పరిశీలన, అర్హత నిర్ధారణ ప్రక్రియ కొనసాగనుంది.
అయితే ప్రస్తుతం ప్రధాన ప్రశ్న వృద్ధాప్య పింఛన్ల దరఖాస్తులను ప్రభుత్వం ఎప్పుడు స్వీకరిస్తుంది? అన్నదే. వయసు, ఆర్థిక పరిస్థితి తదితర అర్హతలు ఉన్నప్పటికీ పింఛన్ కోసం ఏళ్లుగా ఎదురు చూస్తున్న వృద్ధులకు కూడా కొత్త చేయూత పింఛన్ల ప్రక్రియలో అవకాశం కల్పించాలని డిమాండ్ పెరుగుతోంది.

HANAMKONDA: The Telangana government has finally begun the process of sanctioning new Cheyutha pensions and has started accepting applications from eligible beneficiaries. However, the decision has left thousands of senior citizens who have been waiting for old age pensions for years deeply disappointed.
In Hanamkonda district, applications are currently being accepted only for specified pension categories. The exclusion of old age pension applications from the current exercise has triggered concern among elderly people who were hoping that the government would open a fresh window for new pension applications.
The latest development has put the spotlight on the implementation of the Telangana Cheyutha Pension scheme, particularly the long-pending demand for old age pension in Telangana.
Old Age Pension Applicants Still Waiting
Many eligible senior citizens had expected a fresh opportunity after the government changed the eligibility conditions for old age pension in the past. However, a large number of beneficiaries could not submit applications because online IDs were reportedly not opened or were unavailable at the time.
With a change in government, these applicants hoped that the Telangana government pension scheme would provide them another opportunity to apply.
That expectation has once again been delayed, as old age pension applications have not been included in the current phase of the new pension application process.
The situation has raised concerns among elderly citizens who say they have been waiting for years despite meeting the eligibility requirements.
New Cheyutha Pension Applications for Seven Categories
According to the current guidelines, applications for new Cheyutha pensions are being accepted in the first phase from specified categories of beneficiaries.
These include:
- Widows
- Persons with disabilities
- Single women
- Toddy tappers
- Beedi workers
- Filaria patients
- Thalassemia patients
- Dialysis patients
While these categories have been included in the current new pension applications, elderly applicants seeking old age pension have been left out.
The requirement of multiple supporting documents has also resulted in increased crowds at Tahsildar offices and MeeSeva centres across the district.
Widows, in particular, are reportedly visiting government offices to obtain documents such as death certificates of their husbands and income certificates.
Monthly Pension Benefits
Under the existing Telangana Cheyutha Pension scheme, eligible persons with disabilities receive a monthly pension of ₹4,016.
Widows, beedi workers, handloom workers and toddy tappers receive ₹2,016 per month, according to the details provided by officials.
The exclusion of old age pension beneficiaries from the present application process has therefore become a major concern among senior citizens who are expecting financial support from the government.
Hanamkonda District Has Over One Lakh Pension Beneficiaries
The scale of the pension programme can be understood from the number of existing beneficiaries in Hanamkonda district.
According to officials, 1,00,504 pension beneficiaries are currently receiving pensions across the district. The government is releasing approximately ₹23.12 crore every month towards pension payments in the district.
As part of the ongoing verification process, officials have identified around 3,530 deceased beneficiaries and removed 14 beneficiaries who were reportedly not interested in continuing with the pension scheme.
The exercise is aimed at updating pension records and ensuring that government funds reach eligible beneficiaries.
11,236 Applications for New Pensions
Officials said that a total of 11,236 applications for new pensions have been received in Hanamkonda district.
After excluding applications relating to senior citizens, around 7,544 pension applications remain for processing under the categories currently covered by the government.
These applications have to be entered online and verified by August 31.
The verification process is expected to determine the eligibility of applicants before the final sanction of new Cheyutha pensions.
Confusion Over Praja Palana Applications
Another major issue troubling applicants is the lack of clarity over applications submitted earlier through Praja Palana and MeeSeva.
Several people had already submitted applications for pensions through the earlier system, and their details were reportedly entered into the online database.
However, applicants remain confused about whether those existing applications will automatically be considered for new pension sanctions or whether they will have to submit fresh applications.
The lack of clarity has prompted many applicants to approach local officials for information.
Officials Ask Eligible Applicants to Submit Details by August 31
Officials have advised eligible applicants to submit their applications and supporting documents to Gram Panchayat secretaries or ward officers by August 31.
The authorities are expected to complete the online registration and verification process within the stipulated deadline.
However, for thousands of elderly people, the immediate question remains unanswered: When will applications for old age pensions be opened?
Senior Citizens Seek Inclusion in New Pension Process
