హైదరాబాద్: ప్రజా ప్రదేశాల్లో ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు బాధ్యతాయుతంగా వ్యవహరించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని కాంగ్రెస్ ఎమ్మెల్యే పద్మావతి ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి అన్నారు. మహిళా పోలీసు సిబ్బంది, మహిళా కానిస్టేబుళ్ల సమక్షంలో బీఆర్ఎస్ ఎమ్మెల్యేలు షర్టులు విప్పడం ఏమాత్రం సమర్థనీయం కాదని ఆమె స్పష్టం చేశారు. సోమవారం అసెంబ్లీ వద్ద చోటుచేసుకున్న ఘటనపై ఇతర సంఘాల ప్రతినిధులతో కలిసి తెలంగాణ మహిళా కమిషన్కు ఫిర్యాదు చేసినట్లు తెలిపారు.
మంగళవారం హైదరాబాద్లో మీడియాతో మాట్లాడిన ఎమ్మెల్యే పద్మావతి ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి.. అసెంబ్లీ వద్ద జరిగిన ఘటనపై తీవ్రంగా స్పందించారు. మహిళా కానిస్టేబుల్ ఎదుట ఎమ్మెల్యేలు షర్టులు విప్పడం ఆమోదయోగ్యం కాదని అన్నారు. ప్రజా జీవితంలో ఉన్న ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు తమ ప్రవర్తన విషయంలో మరింత బాధ్యతగా వ్యవహరించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని పేర్కొన్నారు.
మహిళా కమిషన్కు అన్ని ఆధారాలతో ఫిర్యాదు
సోమవారం అసెంబ్లీ వద్ద జరిగిన ఘటనకు సంబంధించిన అన్ని ఆధారాలను సేకరించి మహిళా కమిషన్కు సమర్పించినట్లు పద్మావతి తెలిపారు. మహిళా పోలీసుల ఎదుట బీఆర్ఎస్ ఎమ్మెల్యేలు షర్టులు విప్పిన ఘటన మహిళా గౌరవానికి భంగం కలిగించేలా ఉందని ఆమె అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.
ఈ ఘటనపై ఇతర సంఘాల ప్రతినిధులతో కలిసి మహిళా కమిషన్కు ఫిర్యాదు చేశామని తెలిపారు. మహిళల గౌరవం, భద్రత విషయంలో ఎలాంటి రాజీ ఉండకూడదని అన్నారు. బాధ్యులైన ఎమ్మెల్యేలపై చట్టపరమైన చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని ప్రభుత్వాన్ని కోరినట్లు పద్మావతి వెల్లడించారు.

బీఆర్ఎస్ ఎమ్మెల్యేల తీరును తీవ్రంగా ఖండిస్తున్నామని పద్మావతి ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి అన్నారు. ప్రజా ప్రదేశాల్లో, ముఖ్యంగా మహిళా పోలీసు సిబ్బంది విధులు నిర్వహిస్తున్న సమయంలో ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు మరింత సంయమనంతో వ్యవహరించాల్సి ఉంటుందని పేర్కొన్నారు.
మహిళా కానిస్టేబుల్ ముందే ఎమ్మెల్యేలు షర్టులు విప్పడం వంటి చర్యలు మహిళల గౌరవానికి సంబంధించిన అంశంగా చూడాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని అన్నారు. ఈ ఘటనపై సమగ్రంగా విచారణ జరిపి బాధ్యులపై చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని ఆమె కోరారు.
మహిళా ఎమ్మెల్యేలపై పోలీసుల ప్రవర్తనపై తప్పుడు ప్రచారం
మరోవైపు మహిళా ఎమ్మెల్యేలపై పోలీసులు దురుసుగా వ్యవహరించారంటూ జరుగుతున్న ప్రచారంలో వాస్తవం లేదని పద్మావతి ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి అన్నారు. మహిళా నేతలను రక్షించేందుకే పోలీసులు ప్రయత్నించారని ఆమె వివరించారు.
మహిళా నేతల భద్రత, గౌరవాన్ని కాపాడటం పోలీసుల బాధ్యత అని పేర్కొన్న ఆమె.. అసెంబ్లీ వద్ద చోటుచేసుకున్న ఘటనపై వాస్తవాలను పరిశీలించకుండా తప్పుడు ప్రచారం చేయడం సరికాదన్నారు.
“తల దించుకుని మహిళా కానిస్టేబుల్ ఉన్నారు.. ఎంత దారుణం”
మహిళా కానిస్టేబుల్ పరిస్థితిని ప్రస్తావిస్తూ పద్మావతి తీవ్ర ఆవేదన వ్యక్తం చేశారు. “తల దించుకుని మహిళా కానిస్టేబుల్ ఉన్నారు.. ఎంత దారుణం” అంటూ ఆమె ఆ ఘటనపై ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తం చేశారు.
మహిళా పోలీసులు విధుల్లో ఉన్నప్పుడు వారి గౌరవాన్ని కాపాడాల్సిన బాధ్యత ప్రతి ఒక్కరిపైనా ఉందన్నారు. ముఖ్యంగా ఎమ్మెల్యేలు, ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు సమాజానికి ఆదర్శంగా నిలవాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని పేర్కొన్నారు.

మహిళల గౌరవం, భద్రతకు అత్యంత ప్రాధాన్యత ఇవ్వాలని మహిళా కమిషన్ను కోరినట్లు పద్మావతి తెలిపారు. అసెంబ్లీ వద్ద జరిగిన ఘటనపై మహిళా కమిషన్ తగిన విధంగా స్పందించి, బాధ్యులపై చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు.
ప్రజాస్వామ్య వ్యవస్థలో నిరసనలు, ఆందోళనలు చేసే హక్కు ప్రతి ఒక్కరికీ ఉన్నప్పటికీ, ఆందోళనల సమయంలో కూడా మహిళల గౌరవానికి భంగం కలగకుండా జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకోవాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని ఆమె పేర్కొన్నారు.

Congress MLA seeks legal action, submits complaint to Telangana Women’s Commission over Assembly incident
Hyderabad: Congress MLA Padmavathi Uttam Kumar Reddy has strongly condemned the alleged conduct of BRS MLAs at the Telangana Assembly premises, saying elected representatives must behave responsibly in public places and maintain the dignity of women, particularly women police personnel on duty.
Reacting to the incident that took place near the Assembly on Monday, Padmavathi Uttam Kumar Reddy said that BRS leaders removing their shirts in the presence of a woman constable was unacceptable. She said the incident raised serious concerns about the dignity and respect that must be accorded to women police personnel.
Complaint lodged with Women’s Commission
Speaking to the media in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Padmavathi Uttam Kumar Reddy said she had approached the Telangana Women’s Commission along with representatives of other organisations over the incident.
According to Padmavathi, all available evidence relating to the Assembly incident was submitted to the Women’s Commission. She urged the Commission to examine the matter seriously and take appropriate action against those responsible.
The Congress MLA said the conduct of the BRS MLAs was not appropriate in a public place, particularly when a woman police constable was present while performing her official duty.
‘MLAs must act responsibly in public places’
Padmavathi Uttam Kumar Reddy stressed that legislators have a greater responsibility because their conduct in public places is closely observed by society.
She said political protests and demonstrations are part of democratic politics, but elected representatives must ensure that such protests do not compromise the dignity of women or create an uncomfortable situation for women police personnel.
The Congress MLA strongly condemned the conduct of the BRS MLAs and called for appropriate legal action against those responsible for the incident.
Padmavathi rejects claims against police
Padmavathi Uttam Kumar Reddy also dismissed what she described as false propaganda regarding the behaviour of police personnel towards women MLAs during the incident.
She said the police were attempting to protect the women leaders and ensure their safety. According to Padmavathi, the role of the police should not be viewed selectively without considering the circumstances in which the incident occurred.
She appealed to the Telangana Women’s Commission to give priority to the dignity and safety of women and to examine the incident based on the available evidence.
‘A woman constable was standing with her head down’
Reacting emotionally to the presence of the woman constable during the incident, Padmavathi Uttam Kumar Reddy questioned whether such behaviour by elected representatives was appropriate.
She pointed out that the woman constable was standing with her head down, describing the situation as deeply unfortunate.
Padmavathi said public representatives should set an example through their conduct and should be particularly sensitive when women police officers are deployed during political protests and demonstrations.
Demand for action against responsible MLAs
The Congress MLA urged the government and the Women’s Commission to take appropriate legal steps against the legislators responsible for the alleged misconduct.
The controversy surrounding the BRS MLAs and the woman constable incident has added another political dimension to the ongoing confrontation between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS in Telangana.
Padmavathi reiterated that women’s dignity, women’s safety and the dignity of women police personnel must be protected irrespective of political affiliations.
