బెల్లంపల్లి: వర్షాభావ పరిస్థితులు ఈసారి సింగరేణి బొగ్గు ఉత్పత్తికి అనూహ్యంగా అనుకూలంగా మారాయి. సాధారణంగా వర్షాలు బొగ్గు గనుల ఉత్పత్తి ప్రక్రియకు ఆటంకంగా మారుతుండగా.. ఈసారి తక్కువ వర్షపాతం బెల్లంపల్లి ఏరియాలోని ఓపెన్కాస్ట్ గనులకు కలిసి వచ్చింది. దీంతో సింగరేణి బొగ్గు ఉత్పత్తి, ముఖ్యంగా బెల్లంపల్లి ఏరియా బొగ్గు ఉత్పత్తి, గతేడాదితో పోలిస్తే గణనీయంగా పెరిగింది.

గత ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరంలో ఆగస్టు వరకు బెల్లంపల్లి ఏరియాలో 11,74,504 మెట్రిక్ టన్నుల బొగ్గు ఉత్పత్తి నమోదైంది. ఈ ఏడాది అదే కాలానికి 14,06,446 మెట్రిక్ టన్నుల బొగ్గు ఉత్పత్తి సాధించారు.
అంటే గతేడాదితో పోలిస్తే సుమారు 2,31,942 మెట్రిక్ టన్నుల అదనపు బొగ్గు ఉత్పత్తి నమోదైంది. తక్కువ వర్షపాతం, అనుకూల వాతావరణ పరిస్థితులు, ఉత్పత్తి కార్యకలాపాలకు పెద్దగా అంతరాయం లేకపోవడం ఇందుకు ప్రధాన కారణాలుగా కనిపిస్తున్నాయి.
