అనంతపురం జిల్లా, పెద్దపప్పూరు మండలం జూటూరు గ్రామ పరిధిలో ఉన్న మాజీ మంత్రి జేసీ దివాకర్ రెడ్డి చింతతోటలో ఈ ఘటన జరిగింది. మొత్తం సుమారు 30 ఎకరాల విస్తీర్ణంలో విస్తరించిన ఈ చింత తోటలో సోమవారం తెల్లవారుజామున అగ్నిప్రమాదం చోటుచేసుకుంది. స్థానికుల సమాచారం ప్రకారం, గుర్తుతెలియని వ్యక్తులు ఉద్దేశపూర్వకంగా నిప్పుపెట్టినట్లు అనుమానిస్తున్నారు.
ఈ అగ్నిప్రమాదం వల్ల చింత చెట్లు పూర్తిగా కాలిపోయాయి. అంతేకాకుండా వ్యవసాయానికి కీలకమైన డ్రిప్ ఇరిగేషన్ పైపులు కూడా దగ్ధమయ్యాయి. రైతుల అంచనాల ప్రకారం ఈ అగ్నిప్రమాదంలో రూ.2 లక్షల నుంచి రూ.3 లక్షల వరకు నష్టం వాటిల్లినట్లు తెలుస్తోంది.
