అనంతపురం జిల్లాలో టమోటా ధరలు, చీనీ ధరలు మార్కెట్లో విభిన్న ధోరణిని చూపుతున్నాయి. ఒకవైపు టమోటా ధరలు తగ్గుతుండగా, మరోవైపు చీనీ ధరలు పెరుగుతూ రైతులకు కొంత ఊరట కలిగిస్తున్నాయి.
టమోటా ధరలు పడిపోవడం
అనంతపురం జిల్లాలోని కక్కలపల్లి టమోటా మార్కెట్లో టమోటా ధరలు భారీగా తగ్గాయి. రాప్తాడు మార్కెట్ యార్డు ఇన్చార్జ్ కార్యదర్శి రూప్కుమార్ తెలిపిన వివరాల ప్రకారం, మంగళవారం మార్కెట్కు సుమారు 25 టన్నుల టమోటా దిగుమతి అయింది.
ప్రస్తుతం టమోటా ధరలు కిలోకు గరిష్ఠంగా రూ.20 మాత్రమే పలికాయి. సరాసరి టమోటా ధరలు రూ.13గా ఉండగా, కనిష్ఠ ధర రూ.8కు పడిపోయింది. దీంతో రైతులు ఆందోళన చెందుతున్నారు. ఇటీవల రోజుల్లో టమోటా ధరలు తగ్గడం రైతులకు తీవ్ర నష్టాలను కలిగించే అవకాశముంది.
చీనీ ధరలు పెరుగుదల
ఇక అనంతపురం వ్యవసాయ మార్కెట్లో చీనీ ధరలు మాత్రం రోజురోజుకు పెరుగుతున్నాయి. వారం రోజులుగా చీనీ ధరలు పెరుగుదల కొనసాగుతోంది. గత వారం గరిష్ఠంగా టన్నుకు రూ.30వేలు పలికిన చీనీ ధరలు, ఇప్పుడు మరింతగా పెరిగాయి.
సోమవారం టన్నుకు రూ.36వేలు పలికిన చీనీ ధరలు, మంగళవారం రూ.40వేలకు చేరాయి. జిల్లాలోని పలు ప్రాంతాల నుంచి మార్కెట్కు సుమారు 525 టన్నుల చీనీ కాయలు వచ్చాయి. సరాసరి చీనీ ధరలు రూ.26వేలుగా ఉండగా, కనిష్ఠ ధర రూ.15వేలు నమోదైంది.
రైతులకు మిశ్రమ సంకేతాలు
ఒకవైపు టమోటా ధరలు తగ్గడం, మరోవైపు చీనీ ధరలు పెరగడం వల్ల అనంతపురం జిల్లాలో రైతులకు మిశ్రమ పరిస్థితులు నెలకొన్నాయి. ముఖ్యంగా చీనీ ధరలు పెరుగుదల రైతులకు కొంత ఊరట కలిగిస్తుండగా, టమోటా ధరలు పడిపోవడం ఆందోళన కలిగిస్తోంది.

Anantapur: The latest tomato prices and chilli prices in the Anantapur market are showing a sharp contrast, highlighting ongoing volatility in vegetable prices across Andhra Pradesh. While tomato prices have fallen drastically, chilli prices are लगातार rising, bringing mixed outcomes for farmers.
Tomato Prices Continue to Fall
At the Kakkalapalli tomato market in Anantapur district, tomato prices have witnessed a steep decline. Raptadu market yard in-charge secretary Roop Kumar stated that nearly 25 tonnes of tomato arrivals were recorded on Tuesday. Due to increased supply and weak demand, tomato prices dropped significantly.
The maximum tomato prices were recorded at ₹20 per kg, while the average tomato prices stood at ₹13 per kg. The minimum tomato prices fell as low as ₹8 per kg. This continuous fall in tomato prices is raising serious concerns among farmers, as production costs are not being recovered. Many farmers are struggling with losses due to low tomato prices in the Anantapur market.
Traders point out that excess arrivals, lack of export demand, and limited storage facilities are key reasons behind the falling tomato prices. If the trend continues, tomato prices may remain under pressure in the coming days.
Chilli Prices Show Strong Uptrend
In contrast, chilli prices in the Anantapur agriculture market are witnessing a strong upward trend. Over the past week, chilli prices have steadily increased, offering some relief to farmers who cultivated chilli crops.
Last week, the maximum chilli prices were around ₹30,000 per tonne. However, in the last two days, chilli prices have surged sharply. On Monday, chilli prices reached ₹36,000 per tonne, and on Tuesday, chilli prices further climbed to ₹40,000 per tonne.
The market recorded arrivals of around 525 tonnes of chilli produce from different regions of the district. The average chilli prices stood at ₹26,000 per tonne, while the minimum chilli prices were ₹15,000 per tonne. The consistent rise in chilli prices is boosting farmer confidence and helping offset losses from other crops.
Reasons Behind Price Fluctuations
Agriculture experts say that fluctuations in tomato prices and chilli prices are mainly driven by supply-demand imbalance. A surplus supply of tomatoes has led to falling tomato prices, while controlled arrivals and better demand have pushed chilli prices higher.
Weather conditions, transportation costs, and export opportunities also play a crucial role in determining vegetable prices. Farmers are advised to monitor market trends and plan crop cycles accordingly to avoid losses.
