కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టు పై కీలక ప్రకటన మేడిగడ్డ బ్యారేజ్ పరిశీలనకు సీఎం రేవంత్ రెడ్డి, మంత్రి ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి
కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టు (Kaleshwaram Project) విషయంలో సీఎం రేవంత్ రెడ్డి ప్రభుత్వానికి ఎలాంటి దురుద్దేశం లేదని తెలంగాణ నీటిపారుదల శాఖ మంత్రి Uttam Kumar Reddy స్పష్టం చేశారు. కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టు, మేడిగడ్డ బ్యారేజ్ (Medigadda Barrage) పరిస్థితులపై పూర్తి స్థాయి అవగాహనతో ముందుకు వెళ్తున్నామని తెలిపారు.
ఈనెల 20వ తేదీన సీఎం Revanth Reddyతో కలిసి మేడిగడ్డ బ్యారేజ్ను ప్రత్యక్షంగా పరిశీలించనున్నట్లు మంత్రి ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి వెల్లడించారు. ఢిల్లీలో మీడియాతో మాట్లాడుతూ కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టు మరమ్మతులు, మేడిగడ్డ బ్యారేజ్ పునరుద్ధరణపై నేషనల్ డ్యామ్ సేఫ్టీ అథారిటీతో కీలక చర్చలు జరిగినట్లు చెప్పారు.
కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టు మరమ్మతులు వేగవంతం
కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టు మరమ్మతులు త్వరితగతిన పూర్తి చేయాలని ప్రభుత్వం లక్ష్యంగా పెట్టుకుంది. ముఖ్యంగా గోదావరి వరదలు వచ్చేలోగా సాయిల్ టెస్టింగ్, డిజైన్ పనులు పూర్తి చేయాలని నిర్ణయించినట్లు మంత్రి ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి తెలిపారు.
మేడిగడ్డ బ్యారేజ్ డ్యామేజ్పై సాంకేతిక నివేదికలు సిద్ధం చేయడం, కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టు పునరుద్ధరణ చర్యలు చేపట్టడం జరుగుతున్నాయని పేర్కొన్నారు.

కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టుపై దాదాపు రూ.97 వేల కోట్ల ప్రజాధనం ఖర్చు అయ్యిందని మంత్రి ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి వెల్లడించారు. ప్రస్తుతం ప్రతి ఏడాది సుమారు రూ.10 వేల కోట్ల వడ్డీ చెల్లించాల్సి వస్తోందని తెలిపారు.
కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టు నిర్మాణంలో గత ప్రభుత్వం చేసిన పొరపాట్లు ప్రజలకు తెలిసిన విషయమేనని ఆయన వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. బీఆర్ఎస్ ప్రభుత్వ హయాంలో నిర్మించిన కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టు కొన్ని భాగాల్లో దెబ్బతిన్నదని విమర్శించారు.
మేడిగడ్డ బ్యారేజ్ పునరుద్ధరణపై కీలక నిర్ణయాలు
మేడిగడ్డ బ్యారేజ్ మరమ్మతులు, సాయిల్ టెస్టింగ్, డిజైన్ ఖర్చులను కాంట్రాక్ట్ సంస్థలే భరిస్తాయని మంత్రి ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి తెలిపారు. నేషనల్ డ్యామ్ సేఫ్టీ అథారిటీ మార్గదర్శకాల ప్రకారం కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టు పునరుద్ధరణ పనులు చేపడుతున్నామని చెప్పారు.

కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టు అంశంపై తెలంగాణ ప్రజలు అన్నీ గమనిస్తున్నారని మంత్రి ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రజాధనంతో నిర్మించిన కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టును సురక్షితంగా, సమర్థవంతంగా తిరిగి ఉపయోగంలోకి తీసుకురావడమే ప్రభుత్వ లక్ష్యమని స్పష్టం చేశారు.

Kaleshwaram Project Update Medigadda Barrage Inspection by Revanth Reddy Government
Telangana Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy clarified that the state government and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy have no ill intentions regarding the Kaleshwaram Project. He emphasized that the government is focused on restoring the Kaleshwaram Project and ensuring long-term safety.
The minister announced that on the 20th of this month, CM Revanth Reddy, along with Uttam Kumar Reddy, will conduct a detailed inspection of the Medigadda Barrage, a key structure under the Kaleshwaram Project. Highlighting the urgency of Kaleshwaram Project repairs, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the government aims to complete soil testing and finalize engineering designs before the onset of Godavari floods. The Medigadda Barrage repair work is being treated as a top priority under the broader Kaleshwaram Project restoration plan.
₹97,000 Crore Kaleshwaram Project and Rising Interest Burden
The minister pointed out that the Kaleshwaram Project was built with a massive public expenditure of nearly ₹97,000 crore. He also noted that the state is paying around ₹10,000 crore annually as interest on the Kaleshwaram Project cost, increasing financial pressure.
Criticizing the previous BRS government, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the flaws in the construction of the Kaleshwaram Project are already known to the people of Telangana. He alleged that the project, constructed during the previous regime, has suffered structural damage, including issues at the Medigadda Barrage.
Contractors to Bear Medigadda Barrage Repair Costs
In a key development, the minister stated that the cost of soil testing and design for the damaged Medigadda Barrage will be borne by the contracting agencies. The government is proceeding strictly as per the guidelines of the National Dam Safety Authority to ensure safe and sustainable Kaleshwaram Project repairs.
