హైదరాబాద్: విద్యుత్ ఉత్పత్తి పెంచడంతో పాటు విద్యుత్ పొదుపు, ఇంధన సామర్థ్యంపై ప్రత్యేక దృష్టి పెట్టాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని తెలంగాణ ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రి భట్టి విక్రమార్క అన్నారు. ఇంధన సామర్థ్యమే మరో విద్యుత్ కేంద్రంగా భావించాలని పేర్కొన్నారు. ఉత్పత్తి చేసే విద్యుత్ కంటే అవసరం లేకుండా పొదుపు చేసే విద్యుత్ యూనిటే చౌకైనదని తెలిపారు.
హైదరాబాద్లోని హెచ్ఐసీసీ నోవాటెల్లో బుధవారం జరిగిన CII 25వ ఎనర్జీ ఎఫిషియెన్సీ సమ్మిట్-2026లో భట్టి విక్రమార్క ముఖ్యఅతిథిగా పాల్గొని ప్రసంగించారు. CII అధికారిక వివరాల ప్రకారం 25వ Energy Efficiency Summit 2026 సెప్టెంబర్ 16 నుంచి 18 వరకు హైదరాబాద్లో జరుగుతోంది. పారిశ్రామిక ఇంధన సామర్థ్యం, సస్టైనబిలిటీపై ఈ సమ్మిట్ ప్రధానంగా దృష్టి సారిస్తోంది. పర్యావరణ బాధ్యత మాత్రమే కాదు.. ఆర్థిక వ్యూహం
ఇంధన సామర్థ్యాన్ని కేవలం పర్యావరణ బాధ్యతగా చూడకూడదని భట్టి విక్రమార్క అన్నారు. ఇంధన సామర్థ్యం దేశ ఆర్థిక పోటీతత్వాన్ని పెంచే వ్యూహమని చెప్పారు. పరిశ్రమల్లో ఆధునిక సాంకేతికతను విస్తృతంగా ఉపయోగించడం ద్వారా విద్యుత్ వినియోగాన్ని తగ్గించవచ్చని పేర్కొన్నారు.
మెరుగైన సామర్థ్యం కలిగిన మోటార్లు, ఆధునిక శీతలీకరణ వ్యవస్థలు, స్మార్ట్ ఎనర్జీ మేనేజ్మెంట్ విధానాలను పరిశ్రమలు అందిపుచ్చుకోవాలని సూచించారు. విద్యుత్ వినియోగంలో వృథాను తగ్గించడం ద్వారా ఉత్పత్తి వ్యయాలను కూడా నియంత్రించవచ్చని వివరించారు.
ప్రతి మెగావాట్ పొదుపు కీలకం
ప్రతి మెగావాట్ విద్యుత్ డిమాండ్ తగ్గితే విద్యుత్ వ్యవస్థపై ఒత్తిడి తగ్గుతుందని భట్టి విక్రమార్క అన్నారు. విద్యుత్ డిమాండ్ను సమర్థంగా నిర్వహించడం ద్వారా విద్యుత్ ఉత్పత్తి, ట్రాన్స్మిషన్ వ్యవస్థలపై ఒత్తిడిని తగ్గించవచ్చని చెప్పారు.
వేగంగా అభివృద్ధి చెందుతున్న తెలంగాణలో రానున్న కాలంలో విద్యుత్ డిమాండ్ మరింత పెరిగే అవకాశం ఉందని ఆయన తెలిపారు. ముఖ్యంగా పరిశ్రమలు, తయారీ రంగం, డేటా సెంటర్లు, లైఫ్ సైన్సెస్, ఎలక్ట్రానిక్స్ రంగాలకు భారీగా విద్యుత్ అవసరం ఏర్పడుతుందని చెప్పారు.
ఈ నేపథ్యంలో విద్యుత్ ఉత్పత్తి సామర్థ్యాన్ని పెంచడంతో పాటు ఎనర్జీ ఎఫిషియెన్సీ, ఎనర్జీ సేవింగ్, స్మార్ట్ ఎనర్జీ మేనేజ్మెంట్పై దృష్టి పెట్టడం అవసరమని అన్నారు.
పీక్ డిమాండ్ తగ్గితే వ్యవస్థకు ప్రయోజనం
విద్యుత్ వినియోగంలో పీక్ డిమాండ్ను తగ్గించడం ద్వారా విద్యుత్ ఉత్పత్తి, ప్రసార వ్యవస్థలపై ఒత్తిడిని తగ్గించవచ్చని భట్టి విక్రమార్క తెలిపారు. విద్యుత్ పొదుపు వల్ల కేవలం వినియోగదారులకు మాత్రమే కాకుండా మొత్తం విద్యుత్ వ్యవస్థకు ప్రయోజనం కలుగుతుందని అన్నారు.
ఎనర్జీ ఎఫిషియెన్సీ ద్వారా దేశానికి మరింత ఇంధన భద్రత ఏర్పడుతుందని చెప్పారు. అవసరమైన చోటే విద్యుత్ వినియోగం జరిగేలా సాంకేతిక పరిజ్ఞానాన్ని ఉపయోగించుకోవాలని సూచించారు.
AIతో విద్యుత్ వృథాకు అడ్డుకట్ట
ఇంధన సామర్థ్యాన్ని పెంచడంలో ఆర్టిఫిషియల్ ఇంటెలిజెన్స్ (AI), డిజిటలైజేషన్, స్మార్ట్ టెక్నాలజీ కీలక పాత్ర పోషిస్తాయని భట్టి విక్రమార్క అన్నారు. AI ఆధారిత వ్యవస్థల ద్వారా విద్యుత్ వినియోగంలో ఎక్కడ వృథా జరుగుతోందో గుర్తించి, వినియోగాన్ని మరింత సమర్థవంతంగా నిర్వహించవచ్చని చెప్పారు.
భవిష్యత్తులో కర్మాగారాలు కేవలం విద్యుత్ వినియోగదారులుగా ఉండకూడదని, విద్యుత్ వ్యవస్థలో చురుకైన భాగస్వాములుగా మారాలని సూచించారు.
నిరంతర ప్రక్రియగా ఎనర్జీ ఎఫిషియెన్సీ
ఇంధన సామర్థ్యాన్ని ఏడాదికి ఒకసారి నిర్వహించే ఎనర్జీ ఆడిట్కు మాత్రమే పరిమితం చేయకూడదని భట్టి విక్రమార్క అన్నారు. ఎనర్జీ ఎఫిషియెన్సీని నిరంతర నిర్వహణ ప్రక్రియగా మార్చాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని తెలిపారు.
విద్యుత్ వినియోగాన్ని నిరంతరం పర్యవేక్షించడం, డేటాను విశ్లేషించడం, అవసరమైన చోట సాంకేతిక మార్పులు చేయడం ద్వారా పరిశ్రమలు గణనీయమైన విద్యుత్ పొదుపు సాధించవచ్చని పేర్కొన్నారు.
పునరుత్పాదక ఇంధనం, విద్యుదీకరణ, డిజిటలైజేషన్
భారత్లో మంచి పైలట్ ప్రాజెక్టులకు కొరత లేదని భట్టి విక్రమార్క అన్నారు. పునరుత్పాదక ఇంధనం, విద్యుదీకరణ, డిజిటలైజేషన్తో ఇంధన సామర్థ్యాన్ని పెంచాలని సూచించారు.
సౌర విద్యుత్ వంటి పునరుత్పాదక ఇంధన వనరులను ప్రోత్సహించడంతో పాటు పరిశ్రమల్లో అధిక సామర్థ్యం కలిగిన పరికరాల వినియోగం, డిజిటల్ ఎనర్జీ మానిటరింగ్, స్మార్ట్ కంట్రోల్ సిస్టమ్స్ను విస్తరించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందన్నారు.
అన్ని రంగాలు కలిసి పనిచేయాలి
ప్రభుత్వం, పరిశ్రమలు, టెక్నాలజీ సంస్థలు, ఆర్థిక సంస్థలు, విద్యా సంస్థలు కలిసి పనిచేసినప్పుడే ఇంధన సామర్థ్యంలో మరింత పురోగతి సాధ్యమవుతుందని భట్టి విక్రమార్క అన్నారు.

Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has called for a stronger focus on energy efficiency and energy conservation, stating that every unit of electricity saved can play the role of another source of power generation.
Addressing the 25th CII Energy Efficiency Summit 2026 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) on Wednesday, Bhatti Vikramarka said electricity generation alone would not be sufficient to meet the rapidly growing power demand. Along with increasing power generation, there was an urgent need to improve energy efficiency, reduce electricity consumption and prevent energy wastage.
The CII Energy Efficiency Summit 2026 is being held in Hyderabad from September 16 to 18. The summit brings together stakeholders from industry, government, academia, financial institutions, technology companies and startups to discuss energy efficiency, clean technologies, decarbonisation and sustainable practices.
Energy Efficiency Is the Cheapest Source of Power
Bhatti Vikramarka said the electricity that is saved without compromising essential consumption is cheaper than generating an additional unit of electricity.
He stressed that energy efficiency should not be viewed merely as an environmental responsibility. Instead, energy efficiency must be treated as a strategic economic tool capable of improving industrial competitiveness, reducing operational costs and strengthening energy security.
“Energy efficiency is another power station,” was the central message of his address, with the Deputy Chief Minister highlighting the importance of reducing unnecessary electricity consumption.
Focus on Energy Saving Alongside Power Generation
The Telangana government, industries and other stakeholders should give equal importance to energy saving and power generation, Bhatti said.
He suggested wider adoption of energy-efficient motors, advanced cooling systems and modern technologies that can reduce electricity consumption without affecting industrial productivity.
The Deputy Chief Minister also emphasised the importance of smart energy management to identify and eliminate avoidable power consumption.
Every Megawatt Saved Reduces Pressure on the Power System
Bhatti Vikramarka said reducing electricity demand by even one megawatt could help lower pressure on the overall power system.
A reduction in peak power demand, he explained, can reduce pressure on electricity generation and transmission infrastructure. This becomes particularly important as Telangana’s economy expands and electricity requirements continue to rise.
According to Bhatti, sectors such as manufacturing, industries, data centres, life sciences and electronics are expected to require increasing quantities of electricity as Telangana develops into a major economic and technology hub.
Telangana’s Rising Power Demand
The Deputy Chief Minister said the rapid development of Telangana would naturally lead to higher electricity demand.
The challenge, therefore, is not only to generate more electricity but also to ensure that every unit of power is used efficiently.
Improving energy efficiency in industries, adopting energy-efficient equipment and managing peak demand could help Telangana meet growing electricity requirements while reducing stress on the power infrastructure.
AI Can Help Identify Energy Wastage
Bhatti Vikramarka also highlighted the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digitalisation in energy efficiency.
He called for the use of AI-based technologies to identify unnecessary electricity consumption, analyse energy-use patterns and improve the overall efficiency of industrial and commercial facilities.
The integration of AI, digitalisation and smart energy management can enable industries to monitor electricity consumption in real time and take corrective measures before energy wastage increases.
Industries Must Become Active Participants
Bhatti said factories of the future should not remain merely electricity consumers. Instead, industries should become active participants in the power ecosystem.
This would require industries to adopt energy-efficient technologies, manage their electricity demand intelligently and explore opportunities to integrate renewable energy and other clean-energy solutions.
He also stressed the importance of combining renewable energy, electrification and digitalisation to accelerate India’s transition towards a more efficient and sustainable energy system.
Energy Efficiency Should Be a Continuous Process
The Deputy Chief Minister said energy efficiency should not be treated as an annual exercise or limited to a periodic energy audit.
Instead, energy efficiency must become a continuous management process.
Industries should continuously monitor energy consumption, identify inefficiencies, adopt new technologies and measure the results of energy-saving initiatives.
Such an approach, he said, would help companies reduce energy costs while improving productivity and competitiveness.
Government, Industry and Technology Firms Must Work Together
Bhatti Vikramarka called for greater cooperation among the government, industries, technology companies, financial institutions and educational institutions.
He said India’s transition towards a sustainable energy economy would require collaboration across sectors, investment in new technologies and the development of innovative energy-efficiency solutions.
India has no shortage of promising pilot projects, he said, and successful models should be scaled up across industries and regions.
