రోడ్ సేఫ్టీపై తెలంగాణ డీజీపీ హెచ్చరిక: హెల్మెట్ లేకుంటే ప్రమాదం ఖాయం
తెలంగాణలో రోడ్ సేఫ్టీ (Road Safety) పై అవగాహన పెంచేందుకు తెలంగాణ డీజీపీ శివధర్ రెడ్డి కీలక సూచనలు చేశారు. రోడ్డు ప్రమాదాలు (Road Accidents) తగ్గించాలంటే ప్రతి వాహనదారుడు తప్పనిసరిగా ట్రాఫిక్ రూల్స్ (Traffic Rules) పాటించాలని ఆయన స్పష్టం చేశారు. అజాగ్రత్తగా వాహనాలు నడపడం వల్ల ప్రాణాలు ప్రమాదంలో పడుతున్నాయని హెచ్చరించారు.
ఈరోజు (మంగళవారం) ములుగు జిల్లా వెంకటాపురం మండల కేంద్రంలో నిర్వహించిన “Arrive Alive Road Safety Program” లో డీజీపీ శివధర్ రెడ్డి పాల్గొన్నారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా ప్రజలతో రోడ్ సేఫ్టీ ప్రమాణం (Road Safety Pledge) చేయించారు.
హెల్మెట్, సీట్ బెల్ట్ తప్పనిసరి – డీజీపీ సూచనలు
డీజీపీ శివధర్ రెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ:
- హెల్మెట్ లేకుండా బైక్ డ్రైవింగ్ (Helmet Safety) చేయొద్దని సూచించారు
- సీట్ బెల్ట్ లేకుండా కార్ డ్రైవింగ్ (Seat Belt Safety) ప్రమాదకరమని హెచ్చరించారు
- సెల్ ఫోన్ మాట్లాడుతూ డ్రైవింగ్ (Mobile Phone Driving) చేయడం ప్రాణాంతకమని చెప్పారు
అతని ప్రకారం, తెలంగాణలో జరుగుతున్న రోడ్డు ప్రమాదాలులో దాదాపు 75% ప్రమాదాలు హెల్మెట్ లేకపోవడం వల్లే జరుగుతున్నాయి. ముఖ్యంగా 18 నుంచి 40 సంవత్సరాల మధ్య యువత ఈ ప్రమాదాలకు గురవుతున్నారని తెలిపారు.
ములుగు అభివృద్ధికి రోడ్లు కీలకం
ఇదిలా ఉంటే, ములుగు జిల్లా వెంకటాపురం మండలం పామునూరు అటవీ ప్రాంతంలో కొత్తగా ఏర్పాటు చేసిన పోలీస్ అవుట్ పోస్ట్ మరియు ఇంటలిజెన్స్ కోఆర్డినేషన్ సెంటర్ ను డీజీపీ శివధర్ రెడ్డి ప్రారంభించారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో ఐబీ చీఫ్ సుమతి, ప్రిన్సిపల్ చీఫ్ ఫారెస్ట్ కన్జర్వేటర్ సువర్ణ, సీఆర్పీఎఫ్ అధికారులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా డీజీపీ మాట్లాడుతూ:
- అభివృద్ధికి రోడ్ల నిర్మాణం (Road Development) చాలా ముఖ్యమని తెలిపారు

With the rising number of road accidents in India, Road Safety in Telangana has become a major concern. Telangana DGP Shivdhar Reddy has issued a strong warning to motorists, urging them to avoid reckless driving and strictly follow traffic rules to ensure safe driving and save lives.
Addressing a gathering at the “Arrive Alive Road Safety Program” held in Venkatapuram mandal of Mulugu district on Tuesday, Telangana DGP Shivdhar Reddy, along with SIB Chief Sumathi, emphasized the importance of road safety awareness. The officials administered a road safety pledge, encouraging citizens to follow road safety rules and adopt responsible driving behavior.
Strict Warning on Helmet, Seat Belt & Mobile Phone Usage
Highlighting the alarming rise in road accidents, Telangana DGP Shivdhar Reddy stressed that negligence while driving is one of the primary causes of fatalities.
He issued clear road safety guidelines:
- Wearing a helmet is mandatory for all two-wheeler riders to reduce fatal road accidents
- Using a seat belt is compulsory for car drivers to ensure road safety
- Avoid mobile phone usage while driving, as distracted driving leads to severe traffic accidents
According to the DGP, nearly 75% of road accidents occur due to not wearing helmets, making helmet safety a critical factor in preventing deaths. He also pointed out that individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 years are the most vulnerable group affected by road accidents in Telangana.
He further added that road safety awareness campaigns like “Arrive Alive” play a crucial role in educating the public and reducing the number of traffic accidents.
Road Safety Awareness: A Growing Need in Telangana
The DGP highlighted that despite continuous efforts by the police department, violations of traffic rules such as over-speeding, drunk driving, and mobile usage while driving continue to contribute to increasing road accidents in India.
He urged citizens to:
- Follow traffic rules and regulations strictly
- Avoid over-speeding and dangerous driving
- Prioritize safe driving practices at all times
- Spread road safety awareness among family and friends
He emphasized that road safety is everyone’s responsibility, and collective efforts can significantly reduce road accident deaths.
Infrastructure Development: Roads Key to Mulugu Growth
Earlier in the day, Telangana DGP Shivdhar Reddy inaugurated a Police Outpost and an Intelligence Coordination Center in the Pamunuru forest region of Venkatapuram mandal, Mulugu district. The inauguration was attended by IB Chief Sumathi, Principal Chief Forest Conservator Suvarna, and CRPF officials.
Speaking on the occasion, the DGP highlighted the importance of road construction in Telangana, especially in remote and extremist-affected regions.
He stated:
- Road development is essential for economic growth and connectivity
- Construction of roads in remote areas is a significant step toward infrastructure development in India
- Improved road networks will accelerate regional development in Mulugu district
He noted that development in such regions had been delayed due to various challenges, but the rapid progress in road construction is a positive sign.
