దేశంలో గ్యాస్ కొరతపై కేటీఆర్ ఆగ్రహం – కేంద్ర, రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాలపై తీవ్ర విమర్శలు
హైదరాబాద్లో గ్యాస్ కొరత (LPG Gas Shortage) సమస్య తీవ్రంగా మారిందని బీఆర్ఎస్ వర్కింగ్ ప్రెసిడెంట్ కేటీఆర్ పేర్కొన్నారు. పశ్చిమ ఆసియా యుద్ధం ప్రభావంతో దేశవ్యాప్తంగా LPG గ్యాస్ సరఫరాలో అంతరాయం ఏర్పడిందని ఆయన తెలిపారు.
గన్పార్క్ వద్ద బీఆర్ఎస్ ఎమ్మెల్యేలు, ఎమ్మెల్సీలు చేపట్టిన నిరసన కార్యక్రమంలో పాల్గొన్న కేటీఆర్ మాట్లాడుతూ—గ్యాస్ సిలిండర్ కొరత కారణంగా సామాన్య ప్రజలు, మధ్యతరగతి కుటుంబాలు తీవ్ర ఇబ్బందులు ఎదుర్కొంటున్నాయని అన్నారు.
కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం ₹500లకు గ్యాస్ సిలిండర్ ఇస్తామని ప్రకటించడంతో మార్కెట్లో గందరగోళం నెలకొని, ఉజ్వల స్కీమ్ కింద కొనుగోళ్లు కూడా తగ్గిపోయాయని ఆరోపించారు. దేశవ్యాప్తంగా LPG కోసం ప్రజలు పెద్ద ఎత్తున క్యూలు కడుతున్నారని పేర్కొన్నారు.
కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం పార్లమెంట్లో గ్యాస్ కొరత లేదని చెప్పడం వాస్తవానికి విరుద్ధమని కేటీఆర్ విమర్శించారు. రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం మాత్రం పెట్రోలియం వ్యవహారాలు కేంద్ర పరిధిలో ఉంటాయని చెప్పి బాధ్యత తప్పించుకుంటోందని అన్నారు.
ఇంకా నాలుగు రాష్ట్రాల్లో ఎన్నికలు పూర్తయ్యాక, అంటే మే 4 తర్వాత గ్యాస్ సిలిండర్ పరిమాణాన్ని తగ్గించే యత్నాలు జరుగుతున్నాయని ఆయన ఆరోపించారు. కేంద్ర, రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాలు పరస్పరం ఒకదానిపై ఒకటి నెపం వేసుకుంటూ ప్రజలను మోసం చేస్తున్నాయని మండిపడ్డారు.
ప్రతి ఇంట్లో గ్యాస్ సమస్య ఉందని, తన ఇంట్లో కూడా ఈ సమస్యపై చర్చ జరుగుతుందని కేటీఆర్ తెలిపారు. ఇరాన్లో సమస్యలు ఉంటే ఇతర దేశాల నుంచి LPG దిగుమతి చేసుకుని ప్రజలకు సరఫరా చేయాలని కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వాన్ని ఆయన డిమాండ్ చేశారు.

KTR Slams Centre Over LPG Gas Shortage, BRS Protests Intensify
Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President and former minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has alleged that the LPG gas shortage in India has intensified following the West Asia conflict, triggering a nationwide fuel crisis and raising serious concerns among citizens.
KTR participated in a protest at Gun Park along with BRS MLAs and MLCs, demanding immediate action to resolve the growing gas cylinder shortage. The BRS leaders staged a demonstration urging the government to restore normal LPG supply and address the mounting public distress.
Speaking at the protest, KTR said the ongoing LPG supply crisis in India is severely affecting middle-class families and common people, with many struggling to access domestic LPG cylinders for daily cooking needs. He pointed out that long queues at gas agencies have become a common sight, reflecting the worsening gas shortage crisis.
KTR also criticized the Congress government’s promise of providing ₹500 LPG cylinders, claiming that the announcement created confusion in the market. According to him, this led to a decline in purchases under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Scheme, thereby disrupting the distribution cycle and aggravating the LPG gas shortage.
Questioning the Centre, KTR asked how the Union government can claim in Parliament that there is no LPG shortage in India, despite clear evidence of supply disruptions across states. At the same time, he accused the state government of shifting responsibility by stating that petroleum and LPG distribution fall under the central government’s jurisdiction.
He further alleged that after the conclusion of elections in four states—possibly after May 4—there could be attempts to reduce the LPG cylinder size, which may indirectly impact consumers. Such moves, he said, would further burden households already facing a fuel crisis in India.
Accusing both the Centre and state governments of indulging in blame games, KTR said the gas crisis in India has now reached every household. “Even in my home, discussions about the gas shortage are happening, which shows how serious the issue has become,” he remarked, emphasizing the widespread impact.
KTR also highlighted that the LPG cylinder price in India remains a concern for many families, especially those from economically weaker and middle-income groups. Rising costs combined with supply shortages are making it difficult for households to manage their daily expenses.
He urged the Centre to take immediate corrective measures by exploring alternative import options if supply from Iran is disrupted. Ensuring uninterrupted LPG gas supply in India, he said, is crucial to prevent further escalation of the crisis and to provide relief to millions of consumers.
The protest by BRS leaders reflects growing political pressure on both the Centre and state governments to address the gas cylinder shortage and stabilize the LPG supply chain before the situation worsens further.
