ఇటీవల దేశవ్యాప్తంగా సైబర్ నేరాలు పెరుగుతున్న నేపథ్యంలో ఫేక్ ఈ-చలాన్ (Fake E-Challan Scam) స్కామ్పై సైబర్ క్రైమ్ పోలీసులు ప్రజలను అప్రమత్తం చేశారు. ట్రాఫిక్ చలాన్ పెండింగ్లో ఉందని చెప్పుతూ SMS, WhatsApp లేదా ఇమెయిల్ ద్వారా నకిలీ సందేశాలు పంపించి మోసగాళ్లు ప్రజలను మోసం చేస్తున్నారని తెలిపారు.
మీరు వాహనం నడుపుతున్నారా? మీకు “ట్రాఫిక్ చలాన్ పెండింగ్లో ఉంది” అంటూ ఒక సందేశం వస్తే అందులో ఉన్న లింక్పై వెంటనే క్లిక్ చేయకూడదని పోలీసులు సూచించారు. ఈ లింక్లు నేరుగా సైబర్ నేరగాళ్లు రూపొందించిన నకిలీ వెబ్సైట్లకు తీసుకెళ్తాయని చెప్పారు.
ఇలా పనిచేస్తుంది ఫేక్ ఈ-చలాన్ స్కామ్
సైబర్ నేరగాళ్లు ట్రాఫిక్ పోలీసులు లేదా రవాణా శాఖ పంపినట్లుగా కనిపించే మెసేజ్లను పంపిస్తారు.
ఆ సందేశాల్లో సాధారణంగా ఇలా ఉంటుంది:
“మీ వాహనంపై చలాన్ పెండింగ్లో ఉంది. వెంటనే చెల్లించకపోతే డ్రైవింగ్ లైసెన్స్ రద్దవుతుంది. చెల్లించడానికి ఈ లింక్ క్లిక్ చేయండి.”
ఈ సందేశం చూసిన చాలా మంది భయంతో వెంటనే లింక్పై క్లిక్ చేస్తారు.
ఆ లింక్ను క్లిక్ చేసిన తర్వాత, అది ప్రభుత్వ పరివాహన్ (Parivahan) పోర్టల్ లాగా కనిపించే నకిలీ వెబ్సైట్కు తీసుకెళ్తుంది. అక్కడ వాహనం నంబర్, ఫోన్ నంబర్, వ్యక్తిగత వివరాలు అడుగుతారు.
చలాన్ చెల్లించడానికి అని చెప్పి ఓ పేమెంట్ పేజీ ఓపెన్ అవుతుంది. మీరు అక్కడ డెబిట్ కార్డ్, క్రెడిట్ కార్డ్ వివరాలు లేదా UPI పిన్, OTP నమోదు చేస్తే, ఆ సమాచారం నేరుగా సైబర్ నేరగాళ్లకు చేరుతుంది. దీంతో క్షణాల్లో మీ బ్యాంక్ ఖాతాలోని డబ్బు మాయం అయ్యే ప్రమాదం ఉంటుంది.
ఈ లింక్లను క్లిక్ చేయొద్దు
తెలియని నంబర్ల నుంచి వచ్చే ఈ-చలాన్ లింక్లపై ఎప్పుడూ క్లిక్ చేయకూడదు.
మీకు నిజంగా చలాన్ ఉందో లేదో తెలుసుకోవాలంటే నేరుగా బ్రౌజర్లో
echallan.parivahan.gov.in టైప్ చేసి చెక్ చేయాలి.
లేదా అధికారిక mParivahan యాప్ ద్వారానే చలాన్ వివరాలు తెలుసుకోవాలి.
రహస్య బ్యాంక్ వివరాలు ఎవరికీ చెప్పొద్దు
బ్యాంక్ అధికారులు, పోలీసులు లేదా ప్రభుత్వ సంస్థలు ఎప్పుడూ మీ OTP, బ్యాంక్ పాస్వర్డ్, CVV నంబర్ లేదా UPI పిన్ వంటి రహస్య వివరాలు అడగరు.
ఇలాంటి వివరాలను ఎవరితోనూ పంచుకోకూడదని సైబర్ క్రైమ్ పోలీసులు హెచ్చరించారు.
పేమెంట్ ముందు URL తప్పనిసరిగా పరిశీలించండి
ఏదైనా పేమెంట్ చేసే ముందు వెబ్సైట్ అడ్రస్ బార్లో ఉన్న URL ను జాగ్రత్తగా పరిశీలించాలి. అధికారిక ప్రభుత్వ వెబ్సైట్లకే మాత్రమే చెల్లింపులు చేయాలని సూచించారు.
మోసం జరిగితే వెంటనే ఇలా చేయాలి
ఒకవేళ పొరపాటున మీరు ఇలాంటి లింక్ క్లిక్ చేసి డబ్బులు కోల్పోతే వెంటనే చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలి.
- జాతీయ సైబర్ క్రైమ్ హెల్ప్లైన్ 1930 కు కాల్ చేయాలి
- www.cybercrime.gov.in లో ఫిర్యాదు నమోదు చేయాలి
- మీ బ్యాంక్కు సమాచారం ఇచ్చి కార్డులను బ్లాక్ చేయించాలి
సాంకేతికత పెరుగుతున్న కొద్దీ మోసాలు కూడా పెరుగుతున్నాయని, కాబట్టి ప్రజలు అప్రమత్తంగా ఉండాలని సైబర్ క్రైమ్ పోలీసులు తెలిపారు. ఈ సమాచారాన్ని కుటుంబ సభ్యులు, స్నేహితులతో పంచుకోవడం ద్వారా వారిని కూడా సైబర్ మోసాల నుంచి రక్షించవచ్చని సూచించారు.

Cyber criminals send messages that appear to be from traffic police or the transport department. The message usually claims that a traffic challan is pending and warns that failure to pay immediately could lead to the cancellation of the driving license. The message also includes a link to “pay the challan.” When users click the link, they are redirected to a fake website that looks very similar to the official Parivahan portal. Never Share Confidential Banking Details
Officials emphasized that banks, police, or government departments will never ask for OTP, CVV number, bank passwords, or UPI PIN.
Citizens should never share such confidential information with anyone online or over phone calls.
Check the Website URL Before Making Payments
Before making any online payment, users must carefully check the URL in the address bar to ensure it belongs to an official government website. Fraudulent websites often look identical to official portals but contain slight differences in the web address.
What to Do If You Become a Victim
If you accidentally click on such links or lose money in a cyber fraud, take immediate action:
- Call the National Cyber Crime Helpline – 1930
- File a complaint on www.cybercrime.gov.in
- Inform your bank immediately and block your cards or accounts if necessary
