మున్సిపల్ చైర్మన్ పదవుల్లో బీసీలకు 60% వాటా ఇవ్వాల్సిందే: గుజ్జ సత్యం.
రాష్ట్రంలో జరగనున్న 116 మున్సిపల్ చైర్మన్లు(Municipal Chairman), ఏడు కార్పొరేషన్ మేయర్ పదవుల ఎంపికలో బీసీలకు జనాభా దామాషా ప్రకారం 60 శాతం ప్రాతినిధ్యం కల్పించాలని జాతీయ బీసీ సంక్షేమ సంఘం జాతీయ ఉపాధ్యక్షుడు గుజ్జ సత్యం డిమాండ్ చేశారు. ఆదివారం నిర్వహించిన మీడియా సమావేశంలో ఆయన మాట్లాడారు.
ఈనెల 11న జరిగిన మున్సిపల్ ఎన్నికల్లో జనరల్ స్థానాల్లో సైతం బీసీలు గణనీయంగా పోటీ చేసి సుమారు 60 శాతం మంది కౌన్సిలర్లు, కార్పొరేటర్లుగా గెలుపొందారని తెలిపారు. ఇది బీసీల రాజకీయ చైతన్యానికి స్పష్టమైన నిదర్శనమని అన్నారు. బీసీ, ఎస్సీ, ఎస్టీ, మైనార్టీ వర్గాలు కలిపి మొత్తం 85 శాతం స్థానాలు సాధించగా, అగ్రకులాలకు కేవలం 15 శాతం మాత్రమే దక్కినట్లు గుర్తు చేశారు.
పార్టీల వారీగా చూస్తే కాంగ్రెస్ సుమారు 85 మున్సిపాలిటీల్లో, టీఆర్ఎస్ 15, బీజేపీ 2, ఎంఐఎం ఒకటిలో గెలుపొందినట్లు వివరించారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ కనీసం 60 మున్సిపల్ చైర్మన్ పదవులను బీసీలకు కేటాయించాలని, టీఆర్ఎస్ 10 చైర్మన్ పదవులు బీసీలకు ఇవ్వాలని అలాగే ఏడు కార్పొరేషన్ మేయర్ పదవుల్లో నాలుగు బీసీలకు కేటాయించాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు.
తెలంగాణలో జరిగిన కులగణన ప్రకారం బీసీలు 56 శాతం పైగా ఉన్నారని పేర్కొంటూ, జనాభా నిష్పత్తిని పరిగణనలోకి తీసుకుని మేయర్, మున్సిపల్ చైర్మన్ పదవులు కేటాయించాలని కోరారు. ఎస్సీ, ఎస్టీ రిజర్వేషన్ ఉన్న స్థానాల్లో బీసీలకు వైస్ చైర్మన్, డిప్యూటీ మేయర్ పదవులు ఇవ్వాలన్నారు.
జనరల్ స్థానాల పేరుతో కొద్ది అగ్రవర్గాలకే పదవులు కేటాయించే పరిస్థితి ఏర్పడుతోందని, అనేక మున్సిపాలిటీల్లో 90 శాతం కౌన్సిలర్లు బడుగు వర్గాలకు చెందినవారే గెలిచినప్పటికీ, అల్పశాతం ఉన్న అగ్రవర్గాలకు చైర్మన్ పదవులు కట్టబెట్టే ప్రయత్నాలు జరుగుతున్నాయని ఆరోపించారు. ఇలాంటి నిర్ణయాలను సహించబోమని హెచ్చరించారు.
ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి తక్షణమే జోక్యం చేసుకుని సామాజిక న్యాయం జరిగేలా చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని ‘ఎవరి వాటా వారికే’ అనే రాహుల్ గాంధీ సూత్రాన్ని కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ అమలు చేయాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు.
ఈ సమావేశంలో బీసీ దళ్ జాతీయ అధ్యక్షుడు దుండ్ర కుమారస్వామి, రాష్ట్రీయ ఓబీసీ జాతీయ అధ్యక్షుడు ఐలయ్య గౌడ్, బీసీ జేఏసీ కన్వీనర్ రాజునేత, మనోజ్ కుమార్, జోగు నరసింహ తదితరులు పాల్గొన్నారు.

BC Leaders Demand 60% Representation in Telangana Municipal Leadership
In a strong push for BC Reservation Telangana, National BC Welfare Association India Vice President Gujja Sathyam made a significant Municipal Chairman BC Demand, calling for 60 percent representation for Backward Classes in upcoming municipal leadership posts.
Addressing the media, the Gujja Sathyam BC Statement emphasized that in the Telangana Municipal Elections 2026, BC candidates showed remarkable performance even in general seats. According to BC Councillors Telangana Results, nearly 60 percent of councillors and corporators elected belong to BC communities, reflecting growing Backward Classes Political Power and awareness.
He highlighted that BCs, along with SC, ST, and minority communities, secured nearly 85 percent of total seats, leaving only 15 percent to upper castes. This trend, he said, clearly underlines the need for stronger BC Political Representation Telangana.
Based on party-wise performance, Congress won around 85 municipalities, BRS (TRS) secured 15, BJP won 2, and AIMIM gained one. In this context, he reiterated the Telangana BC Leaders Demand 60 Percent, urging Congress to allocate at least 60 municipal chairman posts to BCs and BRS to assign 10 such posts. Additionally, under the BC Mayor Reservation Demand, he called for 4 out of 7 mayor positions to be given to BC leaders.
Citing data from the Telangana Caste Census BC Population, Sathyam stated that the BC Population Telangana 56 Percent must be reflected in leadership roles. He stressed that Telangana Municipal Chairperson Allocation should be based strictly on population proportion to ensure fairness.
He further demanded that in constituencies reserved for SC and ST categories, BCs should be given vice-chairman and deputy mayor positions, strengthening BC Representation in Local Bodies.
Criticizing current trends, he alleged that despite BCs forming the majority among elected representatives, there are attempts to allocate chairman posts disproportionately to upper castes under the guise of general category seats. He warned that such practices undermine Social Justice Telangana Politics and would not be tolerated.
Sathyam urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to intervene immediately and ensure justice by implementing Rahul Gandhi’s principle of “share according to population.”
The press conference was attended by several leaders, including BC Dal National President Dundra Kumaraswamy, National OBC President Ailaiah Goud, BC JAC Convener Rajunetha, Manoj Kumar, and Jogu Narasimha.
