అమరావతి రాజధాని విషయంపై లోక్సభలో జరిగిన చర్చలో కేంద్ర మంత్రి పెమ్మసాని చంద్రశేఖర్ కీలక వ్యాఖ్యలు చేశారు. అమరావతి అంటే తనకు ఎమోషన్ అని, అందుకే తెలుగులో మాట్లాడుతున్నానని తెలిపారు. అమరావతి బిల్లుపై మాట్లాడటం అమరావతి బిడ్డగా గర్వంగా భావిస్తున్నానని ఆయన అన్నారు.
కేంద్ర మంత్రి మాట్లాడుతూ, అమరావతి రాజధాని నిర్మాణానికి తమ భూములను ఇచ్చిన రైతులు, ముఖ్యంగా మహిళలను అభినందించారు. ఒక్క రూపాయి ఖర్చు లేకుండా వేల ఎకరాలు సమీకరించి అమరావతి రాజధాని నిర్మాణానికి పునాది వేసిన వ్యక్తి చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు అని కొనియాడారు. ప్రజలు చంద్రబాబుపై పెట్టుకున్న నమ్మకమే అమరావతి రాజధాని రూపంలో నిలిచిందని చెప్పారు.
అమరావతి రాజధాని అంశంపై వైసీపీ ప్రభుత్వాన్ని కేంద్ర మంత్రి తీవ్రంగా విమర్శించారు. అధికార వికేంద్రీకరణ పేరుతో మూడు రాజధానుల ప్రతిపాదన ద్వారా రాష్ట్రాన్ని గందరగోళంలోకి నెట్టిందని ఆరోపించారు. గత ప్రభుత్వం ఐదేళ్ల విలువైన సమయాన్ని వృథా చేసిందని విమర్శించారు.
అమరావతి రాజధాని విషయంలో రాష్ట్రానికి స్పష్టత లేకుండా చేసి, “ఏపీకి రాజధాని ఏది?” అనే సందిగ్ధ పరిస్థితిని వైసీపీ సృష్టించిందని మండిపడ్డారు. రైతుల కన్నీళ్లే అమరావతి చట్టానికి పునాదిగా మారాయని తెలిపారు.
రాష్ట్రంలో రాజకీయ స్థిరత్వం లేకపోతే పెట్టుబడులు రావని, అభివృద్ధి ఆగిపోతుందని కేంద్ర మంత్రి హెచ్చరించారు. అమరావతి రాజధాని నిర్ణయం మరియు మార్పులు కేంద్ర పరిధిలోనే ఉంటాయని ఆయన స్పష్టం చేశారు.

The Amaravati Capital issue once again took center stage in Parliament as Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar delivered an emotional and strongly worded speech in the Lok Sabha during the discussion on the Amaravati Bill. Calling Amaravati Capital an “emotion,” the minister said he chose to speak in Telugu to reflect his deep personal connection with Amaravati and its people. The minister stated that the Amaravati Capital is not just a geographical location but a symbol of people’s trust and aspirations. According to him, the belief that citizens placed in leadership is what transformed Amaravati into a potential global capital city.
Taking a sharp dig at the previous YSRCP government, Pemmasani Chandrasekhar alleged that the AP Capital Issue was mishandled under the guise of decentralization. He criticized the introduction of the Three Capitals Issue, stating that it created confusion and uncertainty regarding the Andhra Pradesh Capital. He added that instead of strengthening the Amaravati Capital, the previous government diverted focus and wasted five crucial years, impacting development and investor confidence.
He further pointed out that due to the lack of clarity on the Amaravati Capital, Andhra Pradesh faced difficulties in attracting investments. “No investor will come to a state where there is no clear capital city,” he said, stressing that political stability and policy consistency are essential for economic growth.
Referring to the prolonged protests by Amaravati farmers, the Union Minister said their sacrifices and struggles became the moral foundation for the current legislative push. He acknowledged that the voices and concerns of farmers played a key role in bringing the Amaravati Capital issue back into national focus.
