హైదరాబాద్, సెప్టెంబర్ 18, 2026: ఫార్ములా ఈ రేస్ కేసు మరోసారి తెలంగాణ రాజకీయాల్లో హాట్టాపిక్గా మారింది. ఈ కేసుకు సంబంధించి బీఆర్ఎస్ వర్కింగ్ ప్రెసిడెంట్, మాజీ మంత్రి కేటీఆర్ శుక్రవారం నాంపల్లిలోని ఏసీబీ ప్రత్యేక కోర్టుకు హాజరయ్యారు. కోర్టు వద్ద ఆయన మీడియాతో మాట్లాడుతూ ఫార్ములా ఈ రేస్ను హైదరాబాద్ బ్రాండ్ ఇమేజ్ను పెంచేందుకే నిర్వహించామని, అయితే రాజకీయ కక్షతో తనపై అవినీతి ఆరోపణలతో కేసులు పెట్టారని ఆరోపించారు.
కేసులకు భయపడేది లేదు: కేటీఆర్
ఫార్ములా ఈ రేస్ కేసుకు భయపడేది లేదని కేటీఆర్ స్పష్టం చేశారు. న్యాయవ్యవస్థపై తనకు అపారమైన నమ్మకం ఉందని చెప్పారు. పోలీసులు ఎన్ని రకాలుగా వేధించినా ప్రజాస్వామ్య పద్ధతిలో పోరాడుతామని, న్యాయవ్యవస్థ తమకు అండగా ఉంటుందని పేర్కొన్నారు.
ఫార్ములా ఈ రేస్ కేసులో ఎప్పుడు విచారణకు పిలిచినా హాజరయ్యేందుకు తాను సిద్ధంగా ఉన్నానని కేటీఆర్ తెలిపారు. చట్టపరమైన ప్రక్రియను ఎదుర్కొంటానని చెప్పారు.
హైదరాబాద్ బ్రాండ్ ఇమేజ్ కోసమే ఫార్ములా ఈ రేస్
హైదరాబాద్ నగరాన్ని అంతర్జాతీయ స్థాయిలో ప్రమోట్ చేయడం, నగర బ్రాండ్ ఇమేజ్ను పెంచడం కోసం ఫార్ములా ఈ రేస్ను నిర్వహించామని కేటీఆర్ చెప్పారు. ప్రపంచస్థాయి ఈవెంట్లు హైదరాబాద్కు రావడం ద్వారా నగరానికి అంతర్జాతీయ గుర్తింపు పెరుగుతుందని అప్పట్లో భావించామని ఆయన వివరించారు.
అయితే ఫార్ములా ఈ రేస్ నిర్వహణలో అవినీతి జరిగిందంటూ కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం తప్పుడు కేసులు పెట్టిందని కేటీఆర్ ఆరోపించారు. ఈ ఆరోపణలను ఆయన ఖండించారు.
‘‘పక్క రాష్ట్రాలు లండన్ వెళ్తున్నాయి.. ఇక్కడ మాత్రం కేసులు’’
ఫార్ములా ఈ రేస్ అంశాన్ని ప్రస్తావిస్తూ కేటీఆర్ తమిళనాడు ముఖ్యమంత్రి విజయ్ లండన్ వెళ్లిన విషయాన్ని ప్రస్తావించారు. పక్క రాష్ట్రాలు తమ బ్రాండ్ ఇమేజ్ను పెంచుకోవడం కోసం అంతర్జాతీయ స్థాయిలో కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహిస్తున్నాయని, అలాంటి ప్రయత్నాలు తెలంగాణలో జరిగితే మాత్రం కేసులు పెట్టడం ఏమిటని ప్రశ్నించారు.
అంతర్జాతీయ ఈవెంట్ల ద్వారా రాష్ట్రాలు, నగరాలు తమ పెట్టుబడుల అవకాశాలను, పర్యాటక రంగాన్ని, బ్రాండ్ ఇమేజ్ను పెంచుకునే ప్రయత్నాలు చేస్తున్నాయని ఆయన వ్యాఖ్యానించారు.
‘‘టార్గెట్ కేసీఆర్గానే కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం’’
కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వంపై కూడా కేటీఆర్ తీవ్ర విమర్శలు చేశారు. కేసీఆర్ను టార్గెట్ చేసుకుని కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం పనిచేస్తోందని ఆరోపించారు. బీఆర్ఎస్ నాయకులపై వరుసగా కేసులు నమోదు చేయడం రాజకీయ కక్ష సాధింపులో భాగమేనని ఆయన వ్యాఖ్యానించారు.
తమపై లక్ష కోట్ల రూపాయల ఆస్తులు సంపాదించామని కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం అసత్య ఆరోపణలు చేస్తోందని కేటీఆర్ మండిపడ్డారు.
‘‘రూ.1000 కోట్లు తీసుకుని.. రూ.99 వేల కోట్లతో హామీలు నెరవేర్చండి’’
తమ కుటుంబం లేదా తమ పేరుతో లక్ష కోట్ల రూపాయల ఆస్తులు ఉన్నాయని ప్రభుత్వం చెబుతోందని పేర్కొన్న కేటీఆర్, ప్రభుత్వానికి ఒక సవాల్ విసిరారు.
‘‘మా పేరుపై లక్ష కోట్ల ఆస్తులు ఉన్నాయని చెబుతున్నారు. రూ.1000 కోట్లు ఇచ్చి ఆ లక్ష కోట్ల ఆస్తులు తీసుకోండి. మిగిలిన రూ.99 వేల కోట్లతో మీరు ఇచ్చిన హామీలను నెరవేర్చండి’’ అని కేటీఆర్ వ్యాఖ్యానించారు.
ఈ వ్యాఖ్యలతో ఫార్ములా ఈ రేస్ కేసు మరోసారి తెలంగాణ రాజకీయాల్లో చర్చనీయాంశంగా మారింది.
ఫార్ములా ఈ రేస్ కేసులో ఏం జరిగింది?
ఫార్ములా ఈ రేస్ నిర్వహణకు సంబంధించి హైదరాబాద్ మెట్రోపాలిటన్ డెవలప్మెంట్ అథారిటీ (HMDA) నుంచి సుమారు రూ.55 కోట్ల నిధుల బదిలీపై ఏసీబీ అభ్యంతరాలు వ్యక్తం చేసింది. అవసరమైన అనుమతులు, ఆర్థిక విధానాలను పాటించకుండా నిధుల బదిలీ జరిగిందన్నది దర్యాప్తు సంస్థ ఆరోపణల్లో ప్రధాన అంశంగా ఉంది. ఈ కేసులో ఏసీబీ దాఖలు చేసిన ఛార్జ్షీట్ను పరిశీలించిన అనంతరం నాంపల్లి ఏసీబీ ప్రత్యేక కోర్టు నిందితులకు సమన్లు జారీ చేసింది.
శుక్రవారం విచారణకు కేటీఆర్ హాజరయ్యారు. తాజా సమాచారం ప్రకారం తదుపరి విచారణను అక్టోబర్ 30కి వాయిదా వేసినట్లు వార్తా నివేదికలు వెల్లడించాయి.
రాజకీయంగా మరింత వేడెక్కుతున్న ఫార్ములా ఈ రేస్ వివాదం
ఫార్ములా ఈ రేస్ కేసు కేవలం న్యాయపరమైన అంశంగానే కాకుండా తెలంగాణ రాజకీయాల్లో అధికార, ప్రతిపక్షాల మధ్య తీవ్ర వాగ్వాదానికి కారణమవుతోంది. ఒకవైపు నిధుల వినియోగం, అనుమతులు, ఆర్థిక ప్రక్రియలపై ఏసీబీ అభ్యంతరాలు ఉండగా.. మరోవైపు ఈ కేసు రాజకీయ కక్ష సాధింపులో భాగమని కేటీఆర్, బీఆర్ఎస్ నేతలు ఆరోపిస్తున్నారు.

BRS Working President KTR says Formula E race was organised to enhance Hyderabad’s global brand image; alleges false corruption case and political targeting
Hyderabad, September 18, 2026: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president and former Telangana minister K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) appeared before the Nampally ACB Court on Friday in connection with the Formula E Race Case. Speaking to the media outside the court, KTR said he was not afraid of the case and expressed confidence in the judiciary.
The KTR Formula E Race Case has become a significant legal and political issue in Telangana. The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has alleged financial irregularities in payments connected with the Formula E event, while KTR has consistently rejected the allegations and questioned the government’s case against him.
‘Formula E Race was held to boost Hyderabad’s brand image’
KTR said the Formula E Race in Hyderabad was organised with the objective of strengthening Hyderabad’s international brand image and showcasing the city as a global destination for major sporting and business events.
According to KTR, hosting an internationally recognised event such as the Formula E Race was intended to enhance Hyderabad’s visibility and attract greater attention to the city.
The Formula E Race Case, however, has triggered allegations over financial procedures followed in connection with the event.
The ACB has alleged irregularities involving the transfer of around ₹55 crore from HMDA accounts to Formula E Operations. Investigators have questioned whether mandatory approvals and financial procedures were followed.
‘I am not afraid of cases’
Reacting to the ongoing investigation, KTR said he was not afraid of legal cases and that he had complete faith in the judicial system.
He said that he would appear before the investigating agencies or court whenever required in the Formula E Race Case.
KTR also alleged that despite pressure and questioning by the police, he would continue to follow democratic and legal procedures. He maintained that the judiciary would provide the necessary protection available under the law.
The BRS leader’s appearance at the Nampally ACB Court on Friday followed the court proceedings in the Formula E case. Other accused persons linked to the case have also been directed to appear before the court.
KTR questions action against Formula E event
KTR questioned why organising international events to promote a city’s brand image should become the basis for what he described as a false corruption case.
Referring to developments in other states, he said governments and political leaders were travelling internationally to promote their cities and states, while similar efforts in Hyderabad were being questioned.
KTR specifically referred to Tamil Nadu and said efforts were being made elsewhere to improve brand visibility, while allegations were being raised against the previous Telangana government over the Formula E Race.
These remarks were part of KTR’s political defence against the allegations in the KTR Formula E Race Case.
‘Congress government is targeting KCR’
KTR also launched a sharp attack on the Congress government in Telangana.
He alleged that the government was working with former Chief Minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) as its target. KTR claimed that the cases being pursued against BRS leaders were politically motivated.
These are KTR’s allegations; the government and investigating agencies have maintained their own position regarding the Formula E investigation and the financial irregularity allegations.
The ACB’s case concerns alleged procedural and financial violations connected to payments associated with the Formula E event. The agency has filed a chargesheet, following which the court took cognisance and summoned the accused.
KTR’s ‘₹1,000 crore’ challenge
KTR also responded strongly to allegations regarding the assets of him and his family.
He said that the government was making allegations that the BRS leadership had accumulated assets worth ₹1 lakh crore.
KTR challenged the government to take assets worth ₹1 lakh crore for ₹1,000 crore and use the remaining ₹99,000 crore to fulfil the promises made to the people.
His remarks added a fresh political dimension to the ongoing KTR Formula E Race Case, with the BRS leader linking the legal proceedings to broader political allegations against the Congress government.
What is the Formula E Race Case?
The Formula E Race Case relates to financial transactions associated with the organisation of the Formula E event in Hyderabad during the previous BRS government.
KTR was the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development when arrangements for the event were made. The ACB registered a case alleging improper payments, including payments made in foreign currency without the required approvals.
The ACB has alleged irregularities involving approximately ₹55 crore transferred from HMDA to Formula E Operations. According to reports, the investigation also covers questions surrounding the approvals and financial procedures followed for the payments.
The case has also resulted in an Enforcement Directorate investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, according to reports.
Court proceedings continue
The appearance of KTR before the Nampally ACB Court marks another important development in the Formula E Race Case.
Reports on Friday said the court adjourned the matter to October 30, 2026.
The legal proceedings will determine how the allegations and evidence presented by the investigating agencies are dealt with. KTR, meanwhile, continues to reject the corruption allegations and says the Formula E Race Case is being used for political targeting.
For now, the KTR Formula E Race Case remains both a legal matter before the court and a major point of political confrontation between the BRS and the Telangana Congress government.
